Information From Your Employer
The Kern CCD benefit package is part of your compensation and it’s important that selections are confirmed each year since changes can occur and situations for you and your family may have changed for the upcoming year. Whether you elect to maintain your current benefit plan or make changes to your plan and/or dependents, all employees must complete the enrollment. Employees can complete their enrollment by meeting with an agent or self-enrolling.
New Hires

Mid-Year Benefit Changes
Certain life events that can change your insurance needs may happen outside of the annual open enrollment period, like marriage or a new baby. If you think you need to apply or adjust your coverage, reach out to your human resources or benefits representative first, who can coordinate with your American Fidelity representative to help you learn about your options. Please note, some benefits may be time-sensitive.

Remember
Before enrollment begins, review your current insurance coverage and benefits options available to you and your family. Think about:
- If you experienced a life change such as a birth of a child, marriage, etc.
- If you want to sign up or renew a Healthcare Flexible Spending Account or Dependent Care Account and how much you’d like to contribute.
- Dental, major medical, and vision expenses you had last year and any other expenses you plan to have this year.
